W.C.B.

a co-worker of mine has been on workers compensation now for over seven months because he injured his rotator cuff. WCB agreed to allow him to do what i beleive is called light duty. he basically comes to the depot every day and helps with office work. to be able to do this he can't lift anything heavy, and the company pays about 90% of his wage while WCB picks up the 10% left over. WCB has been in no hurry to schedule him to see a specialist to get his shoulder treated so he can return to normal work, probably because they are saving money by only having to pay him 10% of his wage instead of having to pay for his full wage if he wasn't at work or having to pay for an operation to repair the injury. needless to say, he has been very frustated with WCB, and their lack of interest in his recovery. after ruffling some feathers last week, he has now been scheduled for surgery next monday in saskatoon. ive said it once, and ill say it again, i hope to hell i don't get sick in this province, or injured for that matter.

The important thing to remember in health treatment is that it's like trying to return a broken part to a store. Don't leave until they agree to take back the part and replace it with a better one.
