Ahenekew vs. KKK/Canada vs. U.S.A.

in canada a man by the name of david ahenekew is charged with promoting hatred because he answered questions from a star phoenix reporter about what he personally thought about the jewish people. today in the united states about 30 people from the ku klux klan and other white supremacist groups gathered at antietam national battlefield to listen to speeches attacking blacks, migrants and other minority groups. some were dressed in white robes, others in military style clothing, and others wore swastika arm bands.

there is something dreadfully wrong on both sides of the border. i don't share ahenekew's position one bit, but as far as i know he never encouraged anyone to harm a jewish person (please correct me if im wrong), and he was charged with promoting hatred for simply answering a question truthfully.
the ku klux klan is known to act violently against blacks, jews, and homosexuals yet they are allowed to hold meeting, in national parks no less.

i don't know the law of either the U.S. or Canada well enough but to me it seems that the U.S. has taken a very laid back attitude towards these white supremacists while Canada has drastically over reacted to the opinion of one elderly old man.
