Superman Returns good, but not that good.

i went to superman returns today in regina with my dad, and im sorry to say that it isn't all it was hyped up to be. don't get me wrong it was still a pretty good movie, unfortunately all the really good action scenes were spoiled by being put in the trailers. there was one unexpected plot turn (i won't say what it was) which disappointed me because to the best of my knowledge it never happened in the comics, but i could be wrong because i haven't read a superman comic in years. the movie was far too slow for my tastes too, concentrating too much on clarks feelings for lois. the one thing i did like was how powerful and invulnerable they made superman, bullets were bouncing off his chest and head, flying nearing the speed of light, lifting huge land masses out of the ocean and hurtling them into space and so on and so forth. i will definately be looking forward to the sequel which is supposed to be out in 2009.

Hi. Yeah, I got to your blog by going "next blog" and quite luckily you were talking about exactly what I've wanted to know for the past year: is the new superman movie good or not. Batman Begins was such an odyssey, and I was worried that batman would be a let down. I watched the trailers online, so I think I would feel your same disappointment. But, can you compare the two? I mean, on a scale of 1-10, which was better and why? Hope this isn't homework.

i would have to say i liked batman begins better than superman returns. both movies suited their characters though, batman begins was dark and dangerous which suits batmans dark and tormented persona. superman returns was kind of optimistic which totally falls in line with supermans boy scout attitude. they needed a super villain for supermans nemesis instead of lex luthor, if for no other reason than to see more of supermans super powers in action. someone like doomsday, soloman grundy, mr. mxyztptlk, or darkseid would kick ass.

My husband and son went to Superman on sat. { i took our daughter to Devil Wears Prada}
I think I know what plot twist you are referring to, as my husband was VERY disappointed as well with the movie, and he said THAT has never happened before.
I thought Christian Bale has made the BEST Batman, and not only because he is HOT LOL!!!
