C.W.B.

i've been troubled by leftdogs post on buckdog about the canadian wheat board and his request for P.M.Harper to keep his hands off of it. when the CWB was created it was in response to world war two, to make sure canadian farmers sold their grain at fair prices and weren't able to gouge the consumer during tough times. some may argue that the wheat board insures fair market prices for canadian producers, while others say it insures the same price for all farmers but that price is not fair. the wheat board also only applies to farmers in the prairie provinces.

if the wheat board is such a great organization why aren't eastern farmers scrambling to get on board ? when sasktel was forced to compete with other long distance companies for saskatchewanians business, they became more competitive than they were previously and now sasktel customers are some of the most loyal for that very reason.also it was said that the farmers should vote to determine the future of the wheat board, will this vote include farmers in the east who aren't affected by the CWB, and most certainly it will include those former or retired farmers that still hold permit books.

the wheat board is one of the most secretive government agencies in canada, and is one of only two government agencies that are not subject to public audits, what does a grain marketing agency have to hide i wonder ?

i am obviously for the abolishment of the canadian wheat board, i welcome comments from those of you that agree with me, and since i have an open mind i challenge those who disagree with me to comment as well to try to change my mind.
