WOO HOO....THE PILL FOR MEN !!!
tests for a new male version of 'the pill' seem to be succesfull. all participants in the study of the new male contraceptive regained fertile sperm about 15 weeks after they quit taking the pill. there were only minor side effects such as acne, and patients who had pellets implanted in their arms had a hard time recovering the pellet, why they implanted pellets in their arms is beyond me. this is great news, but i do see one problem. what woman is going to beleive a guy when he says "don't worry baby, i'm on the pill." she is just going to think he wants to ride bareback, they should include a side effect that turns your member a bright blue, or something that proves you're on the pill.
according to the iraq defence ministry, iranian troops bombed border areas near the iraqi town of Hajj Umran before crossing into iraqi territory. apparently iranian forces were targeting the PKK which is a kurdish group that has been fighting a 15 year insurgency against turkey and has ties with anti iranian kurds.

a los angeles times news rack was rigged to play the mission impossible theme song every time the door was opened. the machine that made the music however was visible after being jossled and looked like a bomb, at least to one concerned citizen. the county's arson squad was called in to blow the 'bomb' up. there are 4500 of these musical door gizmos placed at random throughout los angeles and ventura counties.

Mexico to decriminalize small amounts of drugs, Canadian soldiers need driver training.
the mexican congress approved a bill today to decriminalize small amounts of pot, cocaine, ecstasy, and heroin, all that is left is for president vincente fox to sign the bill into law, which his office has indicated he will. the americans are afraid this new law will hamper their anti drug efforts and increase the number of vacationing students visiting mexico. the law also allows for small personal amounts of amphetamines, and up to two pounds of peyote which is a hallucinagen used in native american ceremonies.
president bush was asked today whether or not the american national anthem should be sung in spanish, mr. bush replied "I think the national anthem ought to be sung in English, and I think people who want to be a citizen of this country ought to learn English and they ought to learn to sing the national anthem in English." i agree with bush to an extent, people should learn to speak english if they want to live in the U.S., but if they can't speak english yet they should be allowed to sing their national anthem in spanish. the same goes for canada as far as im concerned, i have no problem with two vesions of 'o canada' but i don't think there needs to be two official languages. also mr. bush, although you are a great guy maybe you 'ought' to learn proper english before you require others to.
two canadian soldiers were injured in afganistan in a head collision between a UN sport utility vehicle and another coaltion vehicle while the UN vehicle was returning to kandahar from kabul. is it my imagination or are more of our soldiers getting injured and killed involving traffic accidents and roll overs than in fights with our enemies. maybe these guys need to take drivers ed again.

Battlestar Galactica 2.0....Mwaaaa ha ha ha
i am a huge fan of star trek, and rarely watched any other sci-fi program because as far as i was concerned, nothing could hold a candle to Gene Rodenberry's creation. that was until my former roomate jeff brought home Serenity, which is the movie adaptation of the short lived series Firefly which was created by Joss Whedon. then one day while i was browsing Best Buy i came across the first season of the reimagination of BattleStar Galactica, I bought and watched the entire first season in about a day, I was hooked. once again today i was browsing Best Buy and ran across the second season of BattleStar Galactica, of course i bought it and am currently entrenched in the first episode.

Orchata Web
in 2001 mike rilling, curtis 'betty' bullivant, and myself flew to mcallen texas where we were picked up by our friend hector 'fez' muraira, who was a mexican exchange student at our high school in balcarres the year before. hector and his parents drove us from mcallen to monterrey mexico where we spent about two weeks staying with his family and partying with him and his friends. for those of you that have been to mexico, it is more than likely you went to a coastal resort or something similiar. monterrey is a large city with a metro population of 3 837 910. during our stay there we went to several night clubs and bars and attended a few mexican house parties. the drinking age is only a suggestion, and it seemed so were traffic laws. since our return we have obviously stayed in contact with hector, but we have also remained in contact with a few of hector's friends. primarily Calvin, Memo, and Chuy, im sorry i don't know your last name guys. anyways those three have a website and have been kind enough to link to Breakfast Meat. Their website is called Orchata web.
Breaking News
Softwood Lumber Deal Reached---
some of the terms of the the softwood lumber deal include:
-Canadian lumber firms would cap its exports at 34 per cent of the U.S. market, which is roughly Canada's current share. That share would be broken down regionally, based on 2004-05 exports.
-The U.S. would lift its 10 per cent duty and return about 78 per cent of the $5 billion it collected in anti-dumping and countervailing duties beginning in 2002.
-Ottawa would impose an export tax which would vary according to lumber prices, export levels and the value of the Canadian dollar.
-A "surge mechanism" would penalize a region if its exports exceed 110 per cent of its allocated share.
-The deal would be for seven years, with the option of extending it another two years.
-The terms also include dropping numerous lawsuits in the battle, said Wolff, who says Canada has launched 10 legal challenges for every one on the American side.
apparently the liberals don't like the deal, bill graham who is leader of the opposition just finished bashing it in the house of commons. jack layton and the ndp don't like the deal either, he compared it to a judge telling a thief he only has to pay back 80 cents for every dollar he has stolen.
is the deal fair ? probably not, but from what i have read and understand, the U.S.A. simply won't comply with previous agreements regarding softwood lumber under NAFTA. so what are we to do ? i think 80 cents on the dollar, is a lot better than nothing, especially when dealing with billions, and billions of dollars.
if im wrong and sound like an idiot let me know.

Baby Paige
apparently ive been living in too much isolation down here in the south. i just read the story of baby paige from humboldt today when it appears to be somewhat old news. for those that are like me and a little behind, baby paige is an 18 month child from humboldt. apparently she has spent every waking minute screaming her lungs out for the last three weeks. her family doctor sent her and her family to the royal university hospital in saskatoon for diagnosis. the royal university hospital in turn sent her home to humboldt with the amazing treatment of, wait for it, 'childrens tylenol'. after three weeks of inadequate treatment, baby paige's parents decided to take her to Edmonton for diagnosis and treatment, and they got their diagnosis within 24 hours, leukemia. talk radio host john gormley has been talking about this on the radio and ruffled some feathers in the NDP government. deputy premier clay serby has said he will contact the owners of rawlco radio which owns the stations gormley broadcasts on "to tell us whether or not they in fact support this kind of ethical conduct". UNETHICAL ??? mr. gormley isn't unethical, you mr deputy premier, and your colleagues in the government are unethical for allowing this kind of inappropriate behavior to exist in the sask health care system. again i am going to post the link to the blog of a friend of my family whose wife was diagnosed with cancer. to make a long story short they went to the mayo clinic in houston, texas where after being examined there it turns out she didn't have cancer after all. wow, imagine having to wait in line for months here for a treatment that wasn't recquired, ahh the wonders of modern medecine. i could be digging my own grave for writing this, but im pretty sure no one from where i work reads this anyways. also hopefully some of my friends who vote NDP for no other reason than their parents told them to will read this and think twice before supporting the the NDP in the next election.
also thank you to Abandoned Stuff by Saskboy, Cat Print in the Mash, and Small Dead Animals for making me aware of this story.

P.M. with balls
Prime Minister Harper singled out Hamas and the Iranian government today in his speech of rememberance of the haulocaust. Harper said that Canada would not ignore the threats that Hamas and Iran have made against Israel. This is an all new Canada for me, I was alive when the Conservatives under Brian Mulroney were in power but I can't remember anything about that particular government. The only Canadian governments I can recollect with any clarity were the Liberals under Jean Chretien, and Paul Martin. To the best of my recollection neither Prime Minister Chretien or Martin ever took any kind of stand against anything and were always appeasing someone. Even when New York was attacked on 9/11 Chretien, who should have been the first world leader to call and offer condolensces to President Bush was beaten to the punch by President Putin of Russia. Russia, while still a part of the Soviet Union was the U.S.A.'s largest enemy until the break up of said union in the early 90's. Canada, who has never had a conflict with the states any larger than soft wood lumber was beaten by a former Soviet K.G.B. operative. Needless to say that it is good to see a Canadian Prime Minister with some balls. I hope to see Mr. Harper standing up against Iran and Hamas in the future.

Iran threatens to transfer Nuke technology to Sudan
The Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Iran is considering sharing nuclear technology and experience while meeting with Sudanese president Omar Al-Bashir. Al Bashir said last month that his impoverished war torn country was considering developing a nuclear program to generate electricity. Under the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty Iran would be allowed to transer nuclear technology and expertise but only to another signatory of the treaty, of which Sudan is. With Iran threatening to drop out of the NPT and to pass along nuclear technology to other less than reputable nations. Maybe Canada should develop the bomb, it wouldn't take long as we already have a well developed nuclear technology base, large uranium reserves, and civilian reactors. Hell the Americans would probably just give us some of their bombs that are already built, since we used to carry American and European warheads on our planes during the cold war until Trudeau declared Canada would be a nuclear weapons free nation in 1971, and all American warheads were withdrawn in 1981.

since i moved to coronach there has always been digital 1x cellular service right around town. the last two nights however, i have only been getting very poor analog service and i must be picking up an american tower because my cell says im roaming. this makes my life a little more difficult because i chose not to get a home phone. so if this continues i might have to get one.
The Vatican today announced it will be issueing guidelines on the use of condoms for people with HIV and other infectious diseases. the catholic church needs to out right lift their ban on the use of contraceptives altogether instead of just issueing guidelines for condom use.
Iranian President Ahmadinejad again reiterated today that his country is opposed to the existense of Israel, "We say that this fake regime (Israel) cannot not logically continue to live," President Ahmadinejad also hinted at the possibility that Iran might drop out of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty.

No Pub Crawl
the pub crawl i had previously talked about is not going to happen, at least not for the time being. last night i had the window in my bedroom open and it snowed overnight which made for a chilly sleep, when i got up to close the window, i realized i couldn't because the gears on the knob were stripped, allowing it to open and not close. i went to regina today, it was an extremely boring trip there and back. i am going back tomorrow for the day.

Pub Crawl Anyone ?!
im going to float an idea past all those people who read this. i am considering organizing a pub crawl beginning in Balcarres at the local bar, then to the bar in Lemberg, then to the King George Hotel in Melville, and ending the night at Holly's in Yorkton. of course the bus would return to Melville, and Balcarres to drop off anyone we picked up at those towns. let me know what you think and if you or anyone you know would be interested in participating in the festivities. if everything works out it would take place on june 17th.
Bucka thinks he is the Holy Grail
Bucka has completed reading the Da Vinci Code, and has come to the conclusion that he is a descendant of Jesus Christ. apparenty it has something to with the Sinclair family, who according to Bucka hid a treasure on Oak Island on the east coast of Canada hundreds of years before Columbus came to America. Buckas mother's (hi laurie) maiden name is Sinclair. So from now on as well as being called Bucka, you can call him 'the holy grail', 'the last zion', or just simply 'jesus'.

Live Long and Prosper, Fooking Eh !!!
another star trek movie is apparently in the works. for those of you that don't know me, i am excited beyond belief. although im not overly thrilled about the apparent plot of this movie, i have never been completely disapointed by any trek movie. from what ive read so far the movie will be about the early years of james kirk and spock following them from starfleet academy to their first space mission. i am skeptical about who could pull off younger versions of william shatner and leonard nimoy, but i am still pumped. anyways, on another sci fi note, i am currently watching the new battlestar galactica and it rocks. other than that nighty night.
Rye Time
Bucka came down to Coronach tonight and him and I drank a forty ounce of weisers rye. i think i did better than him because i am still awake and writing this, while he is passed out on my couch. i had something else to write but i can't remember what it was, oh well, ill figure it out when the whiskey leaves.

hope i don't get sick
i read today on small dead animals about a 57 year old meath park woman who was going to have wait at least three months to see an oncologist to find out if her cancer is treatable or not. the cancer is already in her lungs, pancreas, liver, and spine. a member of the womans family has been interviewed on John Gormley Live and now with all the publicity this case has received an appointment has opened up on the the 27th. something similiar happened to the wife of a friend of my family who instead of waiting went to phoenix to the mayo clinic. im pretty sure they were interviewed on Gormley as well. they have created a blog about what they went through and as soon as i find it i will post it up here.
porn star offers herself to bin laden
italy's most famous porn star who apparently is a 55 year old woman and not a man has offered herself to osama bin laden if he gives up his terrorist ways. she says bin laden should learn from saddam husseins mistakes, she had offered herself to hussein as well if he would give up his dictatorship. i wonder what this stupid tranny looking freak will do if bin laden takes her up on the offer. i don't think he will though, im sure he would rather remain hidden with his hairy al quaeda brethren than hook up with this crazy broad.
Beware of Xenu
well tom cruise and katie holmes have spawned another recruite to L.Ron Hubbards league of nut jobs known as scientologists. below i have included a game based on the quiet birth. you have to catch the pills to keep her quiet or else the evil alien overlord xenu will show up and we all know we don't want that to happen.

BBQing in the wind and rain
i got a new barbeque on the weekend, however there wasn't a propane tank to be found in coronach until today. so i got a new propane tank today and got it filled so i could chef up some burgers. the wind was a little too much for BBQing today though and the flames kept on being blown out. after quite awhile i finally got my burgers finished but i should have just waited until the weather was nicer because i got soaked in the wind and rain. while i was shielding my bbq from the wind my land lord's ex husband who happens to live across the street came over for a chat, and ive already forgotten his name, oh well.
attacked by a giant parrott
im back, my computer was ginched up for a few days. i took it into regina today to get fixed by a guy named frank. he picked it up from me from my work and brought it back to me before i left the city, free of charge, now that is what i call service. tonight my friend mike and his girlfriend karen came to coronach to visit me. we remenisced about some the stupid shit we had done and some of the stupid places we ended up going to while we were partying during high school. we also had an extended conversation about all the beatings a friend of ours endured at the hands of people younger than him. i had some of the craziest ass dreams of my life last night, some of the highlights were giant parrotts and other birds attacking my friends and i outside an unknown wedding ceremony, as well as seeding a crop while stoned. i have never been attacked by giant birds or seeded a crop high so im not entirely sure why i was dreaming these things but it was interesting none the less.

child welfare officials and a sheriffs deputy visited the home of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline recently. the officials declined to comment whether the couple were being investigated or not. this isn't the first time that Spears, and Federline have been visited by child welfare officials. in february the Los Angeles department visited Spears home after pictures were published of her holding her baby Sean Preston on her lap while she was driving her S.U.V.
on a recent episode of the simpsons patty and selma subject mcgyver to slides of their boring summer vacations. one of the slides featured the Remington Carriage Museum in Cardston Alberta. i love it when tv show reference Canada in one way or another no matter how insignificant. other references to canada on the simpson include the family's visit to Toronto where they saw a tv show called curling for loonies, Lisa also attended the spell-lympics in Calgary, Homer watched the CFL college football draft on tv, and former US president Bill Clinton left a meeting in Springfield when he was told Quebec had the bomb.

I love Bush
with Irans admission today that it is has succesfully enriched uranium for its power plants, im sure the bush administration will start looking for more support to put the pressure on Iran to stop its nuclear program. China and Russia who happen to both be permanent members of the U.N. security council are both staunch allies of Iran, and have resisted E.U. and U.S. attempts to impose U.N. sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program. last summer China and Russia conducted their first ever joint military excercises, and both countries meet annually for bilateral military and technical cooperation talks. China and Russia both might consider baseing some of their nuclear armaments in Iran if they were invited to, to insure they're sphere of influence over an ever increasingly unstable region. China does not want to see an american invasion of Iran because it has billions of dollars invested in the oil and gas fields and Russia wants to make its own billions on the same. if Russian or Chinese missiles are deployed to Iran or any kind of military alliance is made betweent Iran, and Russia, or China it could create an even larger global stand off over Irans nuclear ambitions. better the states goes in now and stops Iran while Bush is still in power and China and Russia haven't committed to any kind of Iranian alliance. take one for the team W. and invade Iran now, alone if you have to, to save the next president of making the decision to go up against the combined might of China, Russia, and Iran.

Morningwood Rocks !!!
i love the band morningwood, i heard their song 'nth degree' a while ago and forgot about it, until tonight i stumbled onto their website from following a link on the wb's website. the price of oil rose to nearly $70.00 a barrel today after reports yesterday that the U.S. was planning an airstrike against iran. i have now gotten used to paying out of my ass for gas, and thankfully i rarely drive my car. the last time i put fuel in my car was on march 4th in abernethy, from there i drove to coronach and have done a little bit of driving around this area, primarily from town to a local farm and back a few times, as well as around town. after over a month i still have over a quarter tank of fuel. i have the day off tomorrow and plan to sleep in as much as possible, once i have dragged my ass out of bed ill probably tidy my shanty up a bit.
sask blog aggregator
today the breakfastmeat blog got listed on the sask blog aggregator. to anyone new reading this blog, there isn't much too it. my friend bucka and i created the website www.breakfastmeat.com , there isn't much to the site other than some pictures from events bucka, myself, or our friends have attended and some other random content one or both of us thinks is funny. putting a blog on the site seemed the next natural step even though i never know what to write about. hopefully any new visitors to this blog will visit breakfast meat and i hope they find it at least a little entertaining.

the big love
i have always been a huge fan of several hbo shows especially the sopranos, six feet under, and dead like me. hbo has a new show out this year which at first i thought i wouldn't like, but it turns out it kicks ass. its called 'the big love' and its about polygamist mormons. i don't know how accurate it is about mormons but it is crazy entertaining.
nothing new
the same influential investigative journalist who broke the story about the abuses at the abu ghraib prison in iraq by coalition forces, and the my lai massacre by u.s. troops in vietnam has recently reported that the U.S. government is contemplating the idea of using bunker buster tactical nuclear weapons in an airstrike against iran. the bush administration views the president of iran as another adolf hitler. in other news in the middle east, the taliban in afganistan is reporting that they have recruited over 180 new suicide bombers in and around kandahar. their plan is to kill as many canadian soldiers as possible to demoralize the troops and make the canadian public to want to bring the troops home. personally i hope the states fucks iran up and that the canadian troops in afganistan don't come home until every taliban and alqaeda freak are dead, but thats just me.
nothing interesting happened to me today, i went to regina and came back.

Bruce Osiowy gets story told
again this is old news but new to me and it could be new to others as well, although probably anyone that comes here doesn't give a shit about this anyways. Bruce Osiowy, the farmer from Abernethy who got his hand caught in a stone picker for sixty six hours, and eventually cut off his own finger and in his delerium fed it to his dog is having his story told on an american show called 'it's a miracle'. he has also been contacted by media outlets in great britain. by the way, Bruce had to have the rest of his hand amputated once he got to the hospital. the question ive always wanted to ask him is how he lost the finger that is missing on his remaining hand.
Black mould in Balcarres, HA HA
it brings me a weird sense of pleasure to read that students had to be moved out of one of the buildings of balcarres school because of black mould and sewage leaking into the basement. for those of you unaware, even though i attended balcarres school i hate that place. even though i hate the school i do like the town. most of the residents of balcarres are farely decent too. i would consider myself a member of the popular crowd while i attended balcarres school, and had many friends, most of whom im still friends with today. im not sure why i hate that school so much, i even liked most of the teachers and staff that worked there while i was there with a few exceptions. i don't think i would have liked any other high school much better. i went to north valley high school for a semester in grade twelve and although everyone was nice almost to a fault i still didn't like going there either. i also went to summer school in regina one summer. i had to drive an hour there and an hour back every bloody day to a huge school where the only people i knew were danny, jarred, and delorme. come to think of it i definately enjoyed that more than taking the 10 minute school bus ride to balcarres everyday. oh well i never have to go back.

bored
last night i fell asleep on my couch and i woke up this morning in my bed. i don't remember getting up and going to bed or shutting off the tv or anything, it was kind of weird. as of right now i am incredibly bored. i finally dragged my ass out of bed around noon, got a bight to eat at a restaurant called 'orlies' which is just down the street from my house. now ive been screwing around on the net for the rest of the afternoon and watching 'sahara'. im out for now.
someone is playing with my head.
buckas phone continues to be busy, but apparently he is alive. i think someone is screwing with me down here in coronach. i came home tonight and the first two things i noticed were the interior lights of my car were on and i haven't driven the thing in a day or two, and the light in my spare room was and i haven't stepped foot in there for almost two weeks. last night i know both my car lights and the lights in my spare room were off. this is screwed up !!!

Jesus, Judas, and Belinda
well im about to go to bed, i probably should have done so earlier but what can i say, i got hung up talking with friends on msn. i am delighted to read in the news today that there was some sort of study that verifies that it was likely jesus didn't walk on water but ice...hmmmm even i have walked on ice. another religious note, some ancient texts that were discovered in egypt nearly thirty years ago and have since been sitting in long island say that jesus asked judas to betray him. fook me, things aren't going well for the clergy today. also today belinda stronach announced she won't seek the liberal leadership because of the rules governing the election of the leader of the party. my personal opinion is that she knows damn well the rest of the liberal party doesn't trust her because she betrayed the conservatives to get a cabinet post. now that she is on the other side of the house she is probably cursing herself for crossing the floor. the dumb bitch.
HANG UP the phone bucka !!!
i tried calling bucka last night but his line was busy. i tried several times today and it continues to be busy. so if you see this bucka hang up your gawd damned phone already. my GST cheque continues to be sent to my parents house and i haven't lived there for four years, and im positive ive sent my change of address thing a majig to the GST people more than once. oh well what can you do. i heard tyson played dress up as a cowboy this past weekend in moose jaw. anyone that attended the rodeo in moose jaw and saw an asian cowboy, that was tyson.

Do I look like a mennonite ?
last night a passenger that got off my bus in Assiniboia asked if i was a mennonite ? he said i looked like a mennonite because i was dressed entirely in black. i informed him it was a uniform that i'm required to wear while driving the bus. then in Rockglen i accidentally broke my key for the STC agency off inside the door and had to call the owner of the building. her and her husband came down and opened the door from the inside so i could drop off the freight i had brought. hopefully tomorrow she will have a new key for me. other than that my night was very uneventful. today i went to sarcan and got around eleven dollars-woo hoo. i then returned some dvd+r's to the coop that i had bought a while ago because i thought they were dvd-r's when i had boughten them. i then bought some offsale at the bar, had a peanut butter and jam sandwich for dinner and now im doing this.
