T'was the night before Grey Cup

Twas the night before Grey Cup, and all through McMahon,
Not a creature was stirring, but the gophers back home.
The players were nestled and snug in their beds,
While visions of Grey Cup Rings danced in their heads.

When out on the field, there arose such a clatter,
Ken sprang from his bed to see what was the matter,
Away to his window, he flew like a flash,
Threw aside the Green Curtains, and Silky White Sash.

And what did he see with his wondering eye?
But a sea of Green Revelers and a furry brown guy.
”That looks like Durant, and Foord and Fantuz!"
"Its way after curfew! Do they want us to lose??"

So, out of his room and down to the field,
Coach Miller stormed out with a fury to wield.
As he went through the tunnel, the ground shook with a beat,
From the dancing and prancing of ten thousand feet.

"Hey Coach," cried a voice, "Whatcha doing down here?"
It was Szarka and Bagg, and they were handing out beer!
Getzlaf and Chick were grilling up Dogs,
With Burgers being served by O'Day and Clermont.

Dressler cooked Hot Wings, Davis grilled steak,
While Cates, Hall, and Hughes helped Makowsky serve cake.
"This is nuts!" Miller shouted, "It's one-thirty AM!"
"I expected some revelry, but this is mayhem!"

Eric Tillman tapped Miller, " You're not Eagle Keys -"
"But I'm not Buono, Huffy or Ritchie Hall* so PLEASE!"
"You're all waddling around here like Wascana geese!"
"And in need of a dance coach like Donald Narcisse."

"Now, you've all had your fun, so back to your rooms."
But then Miller's nose picked up the barbecue fumes.
Then Green Is The Color rang out through the air,
As Congi and Boreham plucked feathers with flair.

On Jones, on Quinn, on 'Arm-y' Armstead,
Even old Alex Smith grinned and nodded his head,
On Lucas, on McCullough, on Patrick with style,
On Kornegay, Frazier, and yes, even Jyles.

The stadium then filled with a soft greenish glow,
And the whole Rider Nation set poised for a show.
An S and a wheat sheaf then formed in the air,
And a smile took the place of Coach Ken Miller's glare.

Then everyone there, the players, the fans,
They formed a big circle by all holding hands,
Then right in the centre appeared the Grey Cup,
Which McKenzie and Mitchell andWilliams picked up.

They handed it over to Ken, the proud gent,
Who called Darian and Andy, and off the Cup went.
It was passed round the field, past heroes to present,
While Gainer dug holes for the Alouette Pheasants.

That music was heard coast to coast people say
And they say Rider Pride grew three sizes that day.
Everyone left there dreaming of Alouette doom.
And they sent all the feathers to Ben Cahoon's Room.

Dust on the bottle sang by Mike and Kohl

After drinking all day, this is Mike and Kohl singing their version of Dust on the bottle. Stay tuned for pictures of Chris tea bagging Mike.

Neither Ross or Bucka condone the acts against squishy hookers that Mike and Kohl portray in their song. No squishy hookers, kitty cats were harmed during the making of this video.

Rolling Stones postpone Vancouver concert

The Rolling Stones are postponing their upcoming concert in Vancouver. It has been rescheduled from Friday to November 25th. They have also postponed concerts in Oakland, and Los Angeles, as well as cancelling their concert in Honolulu. The postponements are the result of Mick Jagger taking four days off to recover from throat problems.
Thank God he wasn't under the weather prior to the concerts in Regina.

which video is more sexy

my favourite music video of all time has to be 'call on me' by Eric Prydz, however a new video by called 'put your hands up for detroit' by fedde le grande is also very stimulating. below i have both videos, watch them and let me know which one you think is better.

call on me - Eric Prydz (kind of makes me want to go to the gym)

Keith Richards better not light up during concert in Regina

During their concert Friday night in Glasgow, the Rolling Stones guitarist apparently lit up a cigarette and was reported to the Glasgow city council by journalists. Richards could be fined up to £50 which is U.S.$95.
Whatever will he do, his finances will be in chaos.
I am all in favour of smoking bans in public places but that is getting ridiculous, not only would I not consider that stage a public place because only the band members are allowed on it, but I'm sure there were a lot of worse things being inhaled, and imbided by audience members. Hopefully when the stones are performing in Regina our government won't charge any band members for smoking in public, especially since Taylor Field isn't enclosed.

UPDATE:
Keith Richards will not be charged with smoking in a public place.

i got my satisfaction

the rolling stones have announced another concert date for Regina on october 6th 2006. like last weeks ticket sales, this weeks were available in advance to stones fan club members, riders season ticket holders, and sponsors of the event. obviously those people that were angry the first go round that riders season ticket holders got preferential treatment will be angry again, and to them i say na na na na naaaaaa, my dad and i got a shit load of tickets and you didn't. HA HA HA HA.

get over it already, this is how the world works, every venue that has concerts offers advanced tickets to sponsors and season ticket holders, maybe not as many as eight(and in some cases more, HA HA) but tough luck, life isn't fare.

im not even going to use the excuse that rider fans deserve the tickets because they have supported the riders and taylor field for years and so on and so forth, we might deserve them, we might not but it doesn't matter because we got them anyways. see you at the show !!!

everybody's free to wear sunscreen

remember the single called everybody's free to wear sunscreen by baz luhrmann ? it was taken word for word from a speech written by mary schmich in 1997 and published in the chicago tribune as a column. it gives some very sage advice that everyone should follow, i don't know what made me think of this song today but i did and burnt it to a disk this morning, its not a tune you'd dance to or listen to everyday but its good none the less. below is the music video for the single from you tube and the lyrics printed below that.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering
experience…I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you
imagine.

Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing
bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm
on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing everyday that scares you

Sing

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with
people who are reckless with yours.

Floss

Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with
yourself.

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you
succeed in doing this, tell me how.

Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.

Stretch

Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your
life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they
wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t.

Get plenty of calcium.

Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.

Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe
you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky
chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t
congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your
choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s. Enjoy your body,
use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people
think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever
own..

Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.

Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.

Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for
good.

Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the
people most likely to stick with you in the future.

Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you
should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and
lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
knew when you were young.

Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live
in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.

Travel.

Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will
philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize
that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were
noble and children respected their elders.

Respect your elders.

Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one
might run out.

Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will
look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who
supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of
fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the
ugly parts and recycling it for more than
it’s worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen…

Rider fans want answers

my dad got a hold of Jim Hopson, the President and CEO of the rider organization this afternoon (don't ask how he got a hold of him, i don't know) to find out if any more advanced tickets would be made available to season ticket holders. he was told that they are putting the pressure on ticket master or the promoter or whoever dictates how many tickets are sold in advance to make more available. all season ticket holders, action pack holders, and share holders were told that they would be able to purchase up to 8 tickets each if they so chose. it seems that promise was broken because after the advanced sales to fan club members yesterday there were only 300 tickets left for rider fans today. hopefully the riders pull it off because we just want some 'satisfaction'.

UPDATE
I found a copy of the letter sent out to season ticket holders telling them about the opportunity to purchase tickets to the rolling stones concert. here it is.

Dear Rider Fan,
The Saskatchewan Roughriders very much value your support of the team and to demonstrate our appreciation and commitment to our fans, we are giving you exclusive access to the concert of the century!
As a Rider Shareholder, Season Ticket holder, or Action Pack holder, you can purchase up to 8 Gold Circle tickets to the October 8th Rolling Stones concert presented by SaskTel at Mosaic Stadium before the general public!
This limited time offer is available from Thursday, July 27 at 10 am through Friday, July 28 at 5 pm only. Tickets to this concert will go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 31. Tickets must be purchased online at Ticketmaster.ca. When prompted for your password at Ticketmaster.ca, please use your account number which is located in the top left corner of this letter.
Please note that this special offer is for up to eight Gold Circle tickets per account holder and not per the number of season tickets, action packs, or Rider Shares under your name.
For example: Having two season tickets and a Rider Share in your name will entitle you to purchase eight Rolling Stones tickets and not 24.
Thank you again for your continued support and enjoy the Rolling Stones concert at Mosaic Stadium!

Sincerely,
Jim Hopson,
C.E.O.
Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club

You can't always get what you want---DAMNIT

the advance tickets for the upcoming stones concert in Regina sold out in less than an hour. the website to buy tickets on seemed completely inaccessable and the phone line was apparently of no help either. after the advance sales yesterday to american express card holders and fan club member there were apparently only 300 tickets left for rider season ticket holders, and share holders. hopefully they open up more tickets.
